Icon was born out of a need for more than just a competition for the serious classical and concert contemporary dancer. Our weekend will highlight the three aspects of education a student needs: healthy and positive competition for their drive, inspirational master classes with some of the World's highest educators and professional dancers in both the Classical Ballet and Contemporary Concert world, and finally culminating with a Gala on Sunday, where ALL students will have the opportunity to perform on the theatre stage.  We also believe in injury prevention in the classroom, and we have guaranteed studio and theatre space, as this is the safest flooring for our dancers.

    Our students will have full range of classes during convention, including classical technique, contemporary repertoire, Progressing Ballet Technique, Variation, Pointe, Modern, NeoClassical, Men's Class, and Musical Theatre. Students age 8+ will receive over 10 hours of Classes, Auditions, and GALA Choreography. First Position students will receive 5 hours, and their own Stage show on Sunday! All students will have the option to also enter our Classical Variation and Contemporary Solo competition, with additional options for Pas de Deux/Trois and Ensembles. Awards and scholarships will come from both classroom and competition, encouraging all students strengths.

 

    Our regular registration is open to ages 8-19, and our young dancer program "First Position" will work with dancers age 5-7. Both programs will fulfill the young dancers needs and leave them excited about their dance training! We will also have optional classes for teachers and studio owners. Our approach is to instill hardwork and encouragement into the students, erasing elitism and leaving them with hope and drive to create their future!
